Vance Teenager Dies After Accident Outside Tuscaloosa Saturday Night
A teenage driver died Saturday night after a single-vehicle accident on Highway 69 just south of Tuscaloosa, State Troopers reported Sunday morning.
Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in West Alabama, said the 17-year-old was driving a 2005 Nissan Maxima when they left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Police say the driver, whose identity ALEA did not release, was not wearing a seatbelt and was critically injured in the accident.
Burkett said the juvenile, who lived in Vance, was taken to an area hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries and died.
The deadly accident took place a few minutes before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Troopers said, on Highway 69 about five miles south of Tuscaloosa city limits.
No further details were available Sunday morning, and Burkett said Troopers continue to investigate the tragic loss of life.
