Vance Man Killed in Head-On Collision Near Tuscaloosa
A 50-year-old Vance man died early Sunday morning after a head-on collision just outside of Tuscaloosa, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Trooper have confirmed.
Trooper Reginal King, an ALEA spokesman, said Jeffery Calvin Atchley was driving a 2002 Nissa Xterra on Alabama Highway 216 four miles east of Tuscaloosa when he collided head-on with a 2014 Dodge Ram.
Atchley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

King said the accident took place around 5:15 Sunday morning.
No other details were available Sunday evening as State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
