Bibb County Schools announced over the weekend that West Blocton High School will go completely virtual starting Monday, Oct. 26.

The change will be in effect until Friday. Nov. 6. According to a Saturday evening Facebook post, WBHS is too understaffed to proceed with normal school operations.

The post indicated that this will not affect elementary or middle schools in the area.

An article from WBRC Fox6 News added that this will not affect extracurricular activities, and athletics events will continue as scheduled. Teachers will post assignments using the established e-learning software or the school and students will be expected to check their accounts regularly to complete them.

As more information is released, students, parents, faculty and staff can be expected to hear from the system by phone, email and social media communication.
