The familiar smells of fried chicken and buttered toast will finally make their return to Paty Hall next month when Raising Cane's reopens there early next month.

According to the University of Alabama's Assistant Director of Communication Shane Dorrill, Raising Cane's will reopen its doors on Feb. 2 after being shuttered for the fall semester as COVID-19 restrictions and staffing issues prevented the popular fried chicken restaurant from doing business on campus.

The reopening will come with some caveats to help curb the spread of COVID-19 including the restriction of operations to Tuesday – Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

"Only 10 customers will be allowed in the dining room and 10 in the lobby for pick-up at a time," Dorrill said. "Guests will enter the restaurant from the McCorvey Drive entrance and will exit on the opposite side of the venue."

Along with limiting customers inside the dining hall, the restaurant is also encouraging its customers to order online through the Transact Mobile Ordering app. Dorrill said that guests can show their confirmation code to the greeter at the entrance to "skip the line and pick up their order."
