The University of Alabama's Panhellenic Association announced that its 2021 recruitment season will be primarily in-person, with virtual options for those who cannot or do not want to participate face-to-face.

The organization, which is comprised of most of the university's sororities, issued a message on its social media accounts regarding how recruitment will be handled. Dates for the 2021 recruitment season are Aug. 7-15.

Most of the various "rounds" potential new members (PNMs) go through will be held in person, but anyone who isn't comfortable with face-to-face participation or cannot participate in person due to COVID-19 quarantine or isolation will have a virtual option.

"The Alabama Panhellenic Association has developed a set of guidelines for the Fall 202 Primary Recruitment Process, that include a hybrid model with both virtual and in-person rounds," the post read. "This set of guidelines prioritizes the health and safety of potential new members, active members, advisors, volunteers, and UA staff, while still allowing the Panhellenic community to have a recruitment experience."

The post added that the current plans can change at any time, depending on guidance that might come from medical officials or the University of Alabama administration.
