The Tuscaloosa Public Library announced the new permanent location for the Tuscaloosa StoryWalk, with a grand opening celebration slated for this Saturday morning in Jaycee Park.

Tuscaloosa StoryWalk launched in April as a collaboration between TPL and Tuscaloosa Park & Recreation Authority. The monthly program has seen several pop-up events in different parks around Tuscaloosa as a way to get families together outdoors and enjoying a book along an interactive walking trail.

"Our goal has been to find the perfect park in which to install a permanent set of podiums—and we are so pleased that Jaycee Park will be the first home to Tuscaloosa StoryWalk," said Vince Bellofatto, Director of Communications for TPL.

The grand opening will take place this Saturday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jaycee Park, with a ribbon cutting ceremony starting at 10 a.m. On top of the StoryWalk, guests can enjoy several activities, food trucks and see the unveiling of October's book selection.

"The Tuscaloosa StoryWalk is a great way to get families reading, active, and spending time together," Bellofatto said. "We hope this is the start of a long-lasting program in Tuscaloosa."
