Tuscaloosa Police Seek to Identify Alleged Gas Station Car Thief
Police in Tuscaloosa are asking for help identifying an alleged car thief.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, told local media a man captured on surveillance video stole a vehicle from a gas station on Skyland Boulevard last Wednesday.
The car was later recovered in Cottondale.
Taylor said the vehicle was left running and stolen while the woman was inside the gas station around 10 a.m. last week, January 3rd.
Taylor said investigators believe the man, wearing a black hoodie and khaki pants, drove the car to Jefferson County before returning and abandoning it near the intersection of Clements Road and Jim Jones Road.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the photos is asked to call TPD at 205-349-2121, the Criminal Investigations Division at 205-248-4521 or email Investigator Curvin at jcurvin@tuscaloosa.com.
