Tuscaloosa Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of Child Under 12
A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with sexually abusing a young child, according to court documents obtained by the Thread Tuesday.
Because the case involves a child under the age of 12 years old, investigators and court documents are limited in what details they can provide about the alleged abuse.
After becoming aware of potentially illegal behavior that may have taken place earlier this year, area police gathered evidence that was then presented to a grand jury to decide if criminal charges were warranted.
In late August, that grand jury indicted 21-year-old Adam Dalton Sanders and charged him with first-degree sexual abuse and sex abuse of a child less than 12 years old, both of which are felonies.
Sanders was arrested and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail Monday, where his combined bond was set at $40,000.
He remained there Tuesday afternoon.
