
Tuscaloosa to Provide Dumpsters for UA Students
The end of one semester and beginning of another always creates throw away items for University of Alabama students moving in and out of apartments and condos. Because of the, the City of Tuscaloosa is adding 10 more roll-off dumpsters at various locations around the city to facilitate the move.
The city dumpsters will be delivered on Friday and will be marked “Move in/Move Out”. They can be used to dispose of household waste only and are not for use by contractors or businesses.
In addition, a release by the city states, “Recyclable items such as cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, plastic bags, aluminum cans, steel soup cans, newspapers and magazines, and office paper can be dropped off in the blue curbside recycling bin or recycling trailers around the city. Electronics, meanwhile, can be dropped off at the Environmental Services Facility at 3440 Reese Phifer Avenue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.”
The dumpster will be located at:
- 893 Parkview Drive
- Cloverdale Drive at Meador Drive
- 300 Thomas Street (behind apartment building)
- 7th Avenue & 12th Street
- 8th Avenue & 11th Street (in front of Capstone Condominiums)
- 11th Avenue & 12th Street (in front of Heathrow Apartments)
- 12th Street behind Tutwiler
- 12th Street & 14th Avenue
- 8th Avenue & 13th Street
- 13th Street behind Jacks
Electronic devices can be recycled at the Environmental Services Facility at 3440 Reese Phifer Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The ten dumpsters will remain at their locations until August 29 to assist students moving in for the fall semester, which begins August 20 at “The Capstone”.
