Tuscaloosa to Give Out Free Tree Seedlings for Arbor Week Late this Month
The city of Tuscaloosa and partners in state agencies and private companies will give away more than 2,000 tree seedlings at the end of February in recognition of Arbor Week.
Municipal officials said they will team up with the Alabama Forestry Commission, the Westervelt Company and Alabama Power to distribute seedlings for several popular tree species on Saturday, February 28th, free of charge.

The giveaway will feature bare-root and containerized seedling types, including loblolly pine, southern crab apple, eastern redbud, white dogwood, persimmon, red maple, pecan trees, and more.
The first-come, first-served event will start at 7 a.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway and run until supplies run out.
Citizens wishing to learn more can contact Tuscaloosa 311, they said in a press release.
