A transformer malfunction has caused a temporary power outage at Tuscaloosa's City Hall, impacting business services and electronic communications.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox said the outage impacts the City Hall Complex and could affect 311 and other city services.

"Although we are operating on generators, there will likely be disruptions to electronic communications, 311 & business services," Maddox said.

The outage is a result of a transformer failure and Alabama Power crews are working to restore services to City Hall.
