A two-vehicle accident in Marengo County killed two people and left two others injured Tuesday morning, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers confirmed Wednesday.

Reginal King, a spokesperson for State Troopers in West Alabama, said one victim, 44-year-old Nelson Anayna Munoz, was driving a 1998 Ford Expedition on Alabama Highway 69 about 12 miles north of the Linden city limits when the SUV struck a Volvo Tractor Trailer.

Munoz and his passenger, 31-year-old Jose Villadomez, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Two other people in the Expedition were also injured and hospitalized after the wreck, King said.

Munoz was a Clanton resident, and Villadomez was from Thorsby.

No further details were available Wednesday as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the fatal wreck.
