Single-Vehicle Crash in Northern Tuscaloosa County Kills Centerville Man
A West Alabama man died Thursday in a crash in rural northern Tuscaloosa County, Alabama State Troopers report.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in the region, said Richard Whaley, a 37-year-old man from Centreville, was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 on Highway 69 at the time of the accident.

King said Whaley's truck left the roadway and struck several trees. The Bibb County driver was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and Troopers say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened a few minutes before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Troopers, and about 23 miles north of Northport near Mile Marker 172 on Alabama 69.
No other details were available on Friday as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
