The Veganish Market, a beach-themed grab-and-go vegan restaurant will open next month in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Yazmyn Rozier, the owner, said in a release she saw the need for a more diverse vegan restaurant in Tuscaloosa and wanted to be the first African American woman to address that need.

Rozier said her restaurant will offer grab-and-go dishes, including smoothies, grain bowls, sandwiches and other options for those looking for vegan and non-vegan options.

“We wanted to be inclusive in our menu selection so that everybody no matter their diet references can enjoy The Veganish Market,” Rozier said.

The Veganish Market is "beach-inspired" with palm leaves wallpaper, a neon "good vibes" sign and beach decor that will bring a "fun community-driven cafe right to downtown."

"The restaurant is inspired by my travels to Miami once a year. It is my highlight vacation. I was inspired by the beaches, retro architecture, neon signs, and the restaurants,” Rozier said.

The Veganish Market will be located at 2128 University Boulevard Suite B, which is the former space that held Steel City Pops. Rozier said she expects to open on August 8th.
