Masked Teens Charged With Attacking & Shooting Pizzeria Employee Monday
Four teenagers have been charged with first-degree assault after entering a pizzeria in Tuscaloosa Monday afternoon wearing masks before beating and shooting an employee there.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers responded to the Little Caesar’s Pizza at 5980 Old Greensboro Road on reports of a shooting.
Kennedy said the four teenagers entered the business and attacked one of the employees. Several of them were wearing full face-covering masks, Kennedy said.
Their altercation spilled into the parking lot, and Kennedy said the assailants shot the same employee once and fled the scene.
The victim is expected to survive their injuries.
Kennedy said the VCU was able to identify the suspect vehicle which fled the scene, and police soon located and stopped the car. A 16-year-old in the vehicle was arrested and charged as an adult with first-degree assault.
After the first arrest, three others were identified and taken into custody early Tuesday.
Kennedy said the additional suspects are 15,16, and 18 years old.
All four teenagers are now charged with first-degree, felony assault. The 15-year-old was sent to juvenile detention, but the two 16-year-olds and the 18-year-old were all placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
Alabama law prevents the VCU from identifying anyone but the oldest - 18-year-old Nicholas Tubbs of Tuscaloosa.
Kennedy said the assault stemmed from an ongoing dispute with the victim and had nothing to do with the business.
