Suspicious Letters Delivered to Alabama Lawmakers Contained Pornography, Police Say
State police are investigating after a number of lawmakers in Alabama received letters containing pornography on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Jeremy J. Burkett, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said their State Bureau of Investigation was called to the Alabama State House in Montgomery after suspicious letters were delivered there.

The State House is where the Alabama Legislature - the House of Representatives and State Senate - meet to debate and vote on bills. Lawmakers are currently in the middle of their 2025 legislative session.
The letters were addressed to various members of the Alabama House of Representatives, Burkett said, and "each individual letter included a number of pornographic images."
Burkett said Special Agents with the SBI have "immediately identified a person of interest," and an investigation is ongoing.
ALEA had no other information to share on Wednesday afternoon.
