State Troopers Identify Two Killed in Head-On Interstate Collision Sunday
Alabama State Troopers have identified two people who were killed early Sunday morning in a predawn, head-on collision on Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa County.
Corporal Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in West Alabama, said the deadly accident took place around 3:40 a.m. Sunday near mile marker 84 near Brookwood.
King said a Woodstock man, 25-year-old Chance Mizzell, was driving a 2010 Toyota Tacoma that collided head-on with a 2018 Mazda3 being driven by Cameron A. Parks of Madison, Alabama.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, King said.
King did not clarify how the vehicles came to collide head-on in the interstate's westbound lanes, where all traffic should have been flowing in the same direction.
No further details were available Sunday afternoon, and King said ALEA will continue to investigate the deadly wreck.
