The National Weather Service in Birmingham said "there is a slight risk area (level 2 of 5) for this afternoon and tonight for western and central portions of Central Alabama with damaging winds the main concern at this time."

Severe weather is expected to begin Saturday afternoon and will likely last until late Saturday night across Alabama.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said "strong to severe storms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front and move southward across Central Alabama."

  • Localized flooding due to heavy rainfall, especially within urban areas.
