Sandra Wiggins Porter (December 4th, 1946 – June 5th, 2024)

Sandra Wiggins Porter, 77 formerly of Moundville, passed away June 5, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama.

Services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Scott Stephens officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Carthage Cemetery in Moundville. Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel one hour prior to the service on Monday.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marjorie Wiggins, and her sister Marsha Stough.

Survivors include her husband John Porter, sisters; Susan Lawley (Verbie), Sarabeth "Gigi" Oliver (Denny), brother; Tony Wiggins (Barbara).

Sandra received her RN Nursing degree from Livingston University. She worked for the State of Alabama at both Bryce and Partlow for 25 years as a nurse. She also worked in church as a nurse and would hold community health clinics for flu shots. She also taught Sunday School classes and was in charge of the senior citizens group.

The family request in lieu of flowers to make donations to Moundville Baptist Church or Carthage Presbyterian Church.
