Ruby Murphy Chavers (January 7th, 1943 – February 9th, 2026)

Ruby Murphy Chavers, age 83 passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Magnolia Chapel South at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kenneth Wyatt officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Pineland Cemetery in Centreville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husbands, Paul E. Murphy, and L C Chavers, her parents, William Henry Epperson, Julia L. Epperson, and brother, Penny (Bill) Epperson.

She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Price (Ray), brothers, David Epperson, Bob L. Epperson, Carl W. Epperson, Lee Epperson, and Ronald Epperson (Tina).

Ruby was employed by Altadis USA, Inc. (Cigar Factory) in Selma, Alabama, for over 40 years, where she was a dedicated employee. She loved her family, and while having no children of her own, she claimed all her nieces and nephews as her own. Each one of them will tell you a story of how much they were loved by her. She also loved her flowers and plants; her yard was always full of beautiful colors.

Pallbearers will be Eric Price, Nick Muse, Chris Epperson, Ben Avery, Jordan Hurter, Michael Epperson, and Chris Edge.
