Alabama Shakes Bringing Reunion Tour to Mercedes-Benz Amphitheatre in Tuscaloosa
The Alabama Shakes are bringing their reunion tour to Tuscaloosa, where the band has always been well-received.
The city of Tuscaloosa announced the show on Friday morning, saying the group will play at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater on Friday, June 12th.
The Alabama Shakes were first formed in Athens, Alabama, about 115 miles away from Tuscaloosa, and dominated the charts with their debut album "Boys & Girls."

The Shakes have rocked local venues before, including a secret show at Egans in 2011 and two appearances at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in 2012, first with the Drive-By Truckers and later that year with Neil Young.
They also rocked the Bama Theatre in 2014 and reunited there last yearfor the group's first performance together since 2017 at the Tuscaloosa Get Up 3.
Their 2016 album "Sound & Color" brought even more acclaim and saw the group win four GRAMMY Awards - they've been nominated for nine.
Their tour comes after an eight-year hiatus, during which frontwoman Brittany Howard pursued other projects.
The group has also returned to the studio, and their concert announcement said new music is coming soon to fans who've been waiting for more.
Tickets for their triumphant return to Tuscaloosa go on sale Friday, February 20, 2026, at mercedesbenzamphitheater.com.
