As the 2020 college football season comes to a close many football players will be making decisions on their future plans. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Alabama defensive lineman Christian Barmore is planning on leaving the Crimson Tide and entering the NFL Draft.

Barmore, a redshirt sophomore, earned Defensive MVP of the 2020 CFP National Championship Game with five tackles, two tackles for a loss and a sack against Ohio State, including a tackle for loss on a crucial fourth down to seal the game for the Crimson Tide.

He was also named First Team All-SEC for his performances this year, First Team All-American by CBS Sports, Second Team All-American by Pro Football Focus and USA Today and Third Team All-American by the Associated Press.

He burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman playing in a reserve role in 2019. He accumulated 26 tackles including six tackles for loss along with two sacks coming off the bench. As a starter in 2020 he wrecked offenses to a tune of 37 tackles with 9.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks, additionally he defended three passes and forced three fumbles.

Barmore was named a defensive player of the week by the Alabama coaching staff in two games in 2020 and two games in 2019. He was a Freshman All-SEC Player as a reserve in 2019.

According to ESPN's Todd McShay, Barmore is projecting as a late first-round prospect. In his first mock draft of the 2021 he projected the defensive lineman from Philadelphia to be drafted No. 27 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
