Randy Ellis Harris was born July 3, 1953 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Sam Harris Sr. and Ossie Lee Ellis Phillips. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 16, 2022 after a brief illness.

Randy spent his career with the Ford Motor Company in Hapeville, Georgia as an assemblyman for over 30 years, where he retired in 2008. Following retirement, Randy set out to rekindle and build upon relationships with both family and friends. His retirement years were filled with traveling throughout the states of Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky.

To cherish his memory, Randy leaves his two children; daughter, LaTrisa Harris of Douglasville, Georgia, son, Patrick Harris (Barbara) of Bartlett, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Rashelle Harris of Bartlett; two brothers and two sisters: Tommy Ellis of Greensboro, Alabama, Jefferson Phillips of Birmingham, Maudie Mae Phillips of Bessemer and Lina Phillips of Bessemer; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother: Willie Mae Anderson, Juanita Brown, Marilyn Elaine Phillips and Sam Harris Jr.

Randy will be missed for his playful sense of humor and quick banter.
