The National Weather Service in Birmingham is predicting showers and thunderstorms, with "best chances across the south." Heavy rainfall is also possible in the southwest, according to their reports.

James Spann said via Facebook that "it won't rain everywhere, and it won't rain all day," but Alabama will see showers and storms through early this evening. "The chance of any one location seeing rain is 50-60%" said Spann.

Spann reports that Idalia is "now a post-tropical cyclone moving away from the U.S." He noted some impact on Bermuda, after which it will head out to the North Atlantic Ocean.
