Police Identify 19-Year-Old Killed in Hay Court Shooting Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The victim of a Friday shooting in Hay Court in Tuscaloosa has been officially identified by police.
Tuscaloosa Police officers were first called to the area of Hay Court Friday afternoon on reports of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, they found one female dead from a gunshot would.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was then called to assume the investigation.
Jack Kennedy, Captain of the Tuscaloosa VCU identified Shania Robinson, 19, as the victim of the shooting.
Robinson marks the 19th homicide in Tuscaloosa County so far in 2021, and the third shooting in the Hay Court area alone.
The case is active and ongoing. No suspect has been taken into custody at this time.
The Tuscaloosa VCU which is made up of detectives from the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the Northport Police Department, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and the University of Alabama Police Department, investigates all violent crimes, unnatural deaths and sex crimes in Tuscaloosa County.
