Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Friday Wreck on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has officially identified the motorcyclist killed in a two-vehicle wreck on Skyland Boulevard Friday evening.
Stephanie Taylor, TPD's public information officer, said the victim was 30-year-old Jason Troy Banks, Jr. Court records list Banks as a Fosters resident.
Taylor said Banks was driving a 1981 Suzuki motorcycle west on Skyland Boulevard Friday afternoon while 2014 Honda Accord turned left across the westbound lanes into the parking lot of the Dirt Cheap discount store.
Banks collided with the back passenger side of the Accord just after 6:30 p.m.
Taylor said the Honda driver was not injured and was one of several people to immediately call police and report the accident, but Banks was already dead at the scene of the accident when officers arrived.
The police department's Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, Taylor said.
