Police have identified a 26-year-old man who was killed late Monday night in a double shooting in West Tuscaloosa.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called to the 3000 block of 27th Street at 9:30 p.m. Monday on multiple reports of a shooting there.

Police found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, and both were rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment,

One victim, 26-year-old Lamont LaKeith Cameron, died soon after arriving at the hospital. The second victim is still being treated, but Kennedy said they are expected to survive.

No suspects were in custody as of Monday morning.

The VCU, which investigates all homicides in Tuscaloosa County, has taken over the case and is asking for anyone who witnessed the shooting or who may have any information about it to immediately call their offices at 205-464-8692.
