Northport’s New ALDI to Open Next Week, First 100 Customers Get Gifts
Northport's new ALDI supermarket is set to open soon in the former home of the Winn Dixie it replaced on McFarland Boulevard, the German grocer announced Tuesday.
As the Thread previously reported, the store at 10 McFarland Boulevard closed last July to convert formats after ALDI acquired the Winn Dixie brand from Southeastern Grocers in 2023.
The newly converted store opens next Thursday, February 20th, at 9 a.m. and will then be open daily from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

In a Tuesday press release, ALDI also said the first 100 customers at the store will receive a gift bag filled with exclusive products and a gift card, and all customers who shop there this weekend will be entered for a $500 gift card giveaway.
"As shoppers look for ways to stretch their dollars further, our new ALDI store will deliver the Northport community affordable, quality groceries, a quick, easy shopping experience, shelves stocked with only the best products and on-trend ALDI Finds," said Heather Moore, Loxley vice president for ALDI. "The new store brings us one step closer to our goal to add 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028 in response to customer demand for ALDI stores in their communities."
Moore said ALDI will offer their signature low prices in a simply formatted store featuring a careful curation of mostly exclusive products customers need.
They also highlighted the store's Twice as Nice Guarantee, which says if a shopper is not 100% satisfied with the quality of a product, ALDI will both replace the product and refund it.
