Northport Opens Nominations for Citizen of the Year Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2023 citizen awards in Northport, Alabama.

Preparing for its 46th annual selection, the Citizen of the Year Award honors an individual who has made "outstanding contributions" to Northport and its citizens.

Nomination forms can be accessed online here. Physical copies can also be picked up at Northport 5&10 on Main Avenue in downtown Northport.

In addition to the Citizen of Year award, Northport is also accepting nominations for Citizen Awards in special categories. The categories available for nomination are

Business Leader
Education Leader
Religious Leader
Heritage/Pioneer Leader
Public Safety Leader

The online form for the Citizen of the Year Special Awards is available here. These awards exist "to focus attention on achievements made by Northport citizens involved in making Northport a better community."

Northport Citizen of the Year Awards Luncheon 2022

Nominations will be accepted till Wednesday, August 31, 2023 at 5 p.m.

The Citizen of the Year awards luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Northport Civic Center. Tickets are available for $30 per person.

2023-2023 Rising Star Character Students of the Month

During the 2022-2023 school year, Tuscaloosa City Schools, along with Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, Legal Services of Alabama and Child Abuse Prevention Services, will highlight Rising Star Character Students of the Month from each school in the district, highlighting two to three students each month.
