Drivers traveling on 5th Street in Northport can anticipate delays for the next two weeks as a planned utility project gets underway.

When Will Downtown Northport Traffic Be Affected?

According to the City of Northport, Spire has a planned utility project that begins Thursday, May 14, and will last for approximately two weeks. Crews will be present from 7:00 a.m to 6 p.m. daily.

Where Will Traffic Be Impacted in Downtown Northport?

The Spire crews will be working in an area located along the alley behind Billy's Sports Grill on 22nd Avenue. Portions of 5th Street near 22nd Avenue will be affected by the utility work.

The intersection of 5th Street and 22nd Avenue will be temporarily closed, and eastbound traffic will be diverted into the center lane.

The intersection and lanes will reopen each evening with steel road plates installed to help traffic flow in the overnight hours.
