The City of Northport recently completed a feasibility study for the proposed waterpark, finding that the new recreation option was a worthwhile endeavor.

Hogg said the project is one step closer to becoming a reality, noting on social media last week that the final pieces of land acquisition for the park are being put together for council review.

Hogg is also using social media to seek potential names for the new waterpark, sharing his thoughts in a post to Facebook Monday.

"Every Water Park has a catchy name," Hogg wrote. "Now is your chance to name thw Water Park for Northport. What do you think it should be?"

Those wishing to share an idea for the park name are encouraged to share it with Hogg via Facebook.
