Tuscaloosa Councilman Norman Crow Overwhelmingly Wins House Seat
Tuscaloosa City Councilman Norman Crow comfortably won a Tuesday special election for a vacant seat in the Alabama House of Representatives and will trade his office in City Hall for one in Montgomery.
Crow was the Republican nominee for the Tuesday race for Alabama House District 63, which was vacated last year when former Rep. Cynthia Almond was appointed President of the state's Public Service Commission.

In Tuscaloosa, Crow represents North Tuscaloosa's District 3, which includes most property north of the river around Lakes Tuscaloosa, Nicol, and Harris.
He defeated Democrat Judith Taylor, a longtime activist seeking elected office for the first time, on Tuesday.
According to unofficial results from the Alabama Secretary of State's office, Crow earned 1,112 of 1717 votes, or about 65 percent of those cast Tuesday.
His election will require Crow to vacate his seat on the Tuscaloosa City Council, necessitating another special election to fill the position.
"I am very excited to win this race and I appreciate all of the faith that the residents have in me to elect me to this position," Crow told the Thread. "I would congratulate my opponent, Judith Taylor, on running a good campaign. I am really looking forward to going to work in Montgomery in the morning."
Crow thanked his supporters in his district in particular, where he won by large margins at the major polling places - the Church of the Highlands and the Phelps Activity Center.
"It's been the honor of a lifetime to serve the residents of District 3 and to work hard in the city of Tuscaloosa to move forward, working with the Mayor and City Council," Crow said. "I'm excited about this future opportunity to represent Tuscaloosa and our friends in Northport in the state legislature."
