According to Nextgen Camps, Nike and US Camps have announced a three-day youth football skills camp in Tuscaloosa for the summer of 2022 that features four current starters for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The camp will be held June 13-15 at Hillcrest High School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and under the direction of HHS head football coach Jamie Mitchell. It's co-ed and all athletes ages 8-18 can participate in the non-contact event.

Bronco Nagurski trophy-winning junior linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and redshirt-senior starters Emil Ekiyor Jr., Cameron Latu and Jaylen Moody are each scheduled to participate in at least one day of the camp.

"Instruction will include offensive and defensive position drills, athletic development, and competitive play," according to Nike.

"There will be fun football competitions throughout camp, and players will compete in a “7 on 7” tournament."

According to US Sports Camps, the event will sort participants into groups by age range and ability while working on the fundamentals of football as well as agility, speed and strength.

Each attendee will take home a T-shirt, gym bag and their own player card with a camp lanyard.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. each morning and lunch is not included in the cost of the camp fees. Parents and athletes are encouraged to sign up for the event through the US Sports Camps website.
