New Cocktail Bar Coming to Downtown Tuscaloosa’s Temerson Square
A new bar and lounge will open in downtown Tuscaloosa Saturday afternoon, offering modern and traditional cocktails in a lively but secluded space in Temerson Square.
The new concept, called Atomic, opens this weekend inside the lower level of Dillard's Chophouse at the corner of 4th Street and Greensboro Avenue.

The basement lounge will have room for 230 people and aim to match the atmosphere that already exists downtown, with exposed brick walls, brown leather couches a customized pool table and more.
Andrew Dillard, who owns the restaurant and the new bar, said Atomic will also offer a variety of events, including live music shows, video game nights and trivia contests.
In a press release announcing the bar's Saturday opening, a spokesperson for Atomic said they want to "provide a versatile scene for its customers to enjoy a cocktail while watching the game or playing a round of pool."

The bar's menu was designed by its manager Colin McGhee, who said it will offer classic, traditional favorites as well as more modern offerings. At launch, Atomic will offer 21 cocktails categorized by the spirits they contain -- whiskey, rum, gin, tequila and vodka.
McGhee highlighted the Smoked Old Fashion, made with Old Forester Rye, Regans Orange Bitters, vanilla syrup and smoked with cherry wood chips.
The menu will also feature beer, wines and some appetizers.
Atomic opens this Saturday at 3 p.m., and will be open seven days a week going forward, from 4 p.m. - midnight Monday through Thursday, 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Sundays.
