NAPA Auto Parts, the car and truck part retail shop with over 6,000 stores nationwide, will soon open a new store in Northport near the start of October.

Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg made the announcement online Thursday afternoon, saying that representatives from NAPA selected Northport as the company's next expansion in Tuscaloosa County.

"The main goal in business recruitment for a City is to bring new to market concepts within your corridors," Hogg said. "However, sometimes you will find a business that sees potential in your city and comes to you."

The building will be located off of McFarland Boulevard next to Pastor's Kitchen. Hogg said NAPA has a tentative opening date set for the first week of October.

"This is a great addition because one, it is a name that everyone recognizes and two, it is an in-fill opportunity that occupies a vacant building on McFarland Blvd," Hogg said.
