Weaver is preceded in death by her parents Adella and Burton Weaver, sister and brother-in-law; Muriel and Edmund Nuchols, and nephew; Robert Nuchols.

Survivors include the Hughes family whom Naomi loved dearly, Beverly and Bryan Hughes and their children and grandchildren; Ava, McCoy (Mac), and River, whom she loved coming to visit, Carol Long (Terry) and family, Brenda Kelley (Charles) and family, and special caregivers; Peggy Bailey, Betty Gray, and Ashley Watkins Martin.

Naomi was born June 3, 1934, in Tuscaloosa County and resided in the Samantha Community her entire life. Although she suffered in the last years of her life, she never complained. When asked about her health she would quickly turn the conversation by asking questions about how others were doing.

Naomi’s life centered around her family. She loved God and attended church as long as she was able. She loved her family, cats and chocolate! Her favorite hobby was reading and caring for precious cats (Lulu, Little Bit and Red).

Naomi was happiest when surrounded by her “family." When you visited Naomi her eyes would light up and you would be greeted with a smile. When you left she would tell you she loved you. She was a kind and gentle soul, who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Hughes, Chase Maddox, Tim Long, Bill Rice, and Nathan Kelley.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors of the Samantha community, Enhabit Hospice, and special friend Rubel Smith.
