The Druid City will soon only have one Moe's Original BBQ as owners announced Tuesday their plans to permanently close their Hillcrest location.

The news came in a Facebook post citing the challenges the restaurateurs faced operating multiple locations in a year fraught with adversity.

"After 3 1/2 years, I have made the difficult decision to permanently close this location. Owning 2 restaurants during a pandemic gave rise to a number of challenges and uncertainties, and brought light to some very valuable lessons. Life is short. Health is important. Family comes first," said owner Laura Moss.

Moss offered her gratitude to those who have supported the Hillcrest restaurant over the years.

"To the many people that supported us, THANK YOU. I will truly miss this place, and all the people we had a pleasure to serve," Moss said.

Moe's Original BBQ in Hillcrest will be open for lunch Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Hilcrest store's final day of operation will be Friday, June 18.

" Our downtown location will remain open," Moss said. "We hope to see you there!"
