Miami Dolphins Players Spend the Day with Kids at the Broward Juvenile Detention Center

Hope, love and time. That is what Founder of The Verb Kind, Haley Hunt, has given the youth incarcerated.

Hunt has made it her mission to give them a second chance and remind them that their life does not end behind bars. The preconceived notion can oftentimes be that kids incarcerated cannot get a job after they are out or that they will continue to be in this cycle, which is simply not the truth.

The Verb Kind not only mentors’ kids in jail but also in the neighborhoods that they come from. The organization helps them build resumes, get jobs, buy clothing ect.

The Verb Kind is committed to spending Monday nights with youth locked up in the Orange Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Orlando but has now been granted by the state of Florida to expand its footprint into counties across the state.

On The Verb Kind instagram, Hunt describes some of the messages of encouragement she shares with the youth to keep them in a positive head space.

“We talked about freedom in our mind and we can be outside of jail and feel locked up and be inside jail and feel free because of our mind and the condition of our thoughts.”

On Saturday, Hunt brought in some Miami Dolphins players including Alabama alum, Jaylen Waddle, to Broward County Detention Center to give them the message that they are still able to achieve great things.
