Investigators told the Tuscaloosa Thread that the victim was unable or unwilling to say much about how he came to be injured, only that he was walking along 25th Street in West Tuscaloosa when it happened.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit will investigate the case, but without a cooperating victim or witnesses, there is little for them to work with.
