Bryant-Denny Stadium officially has alcohol.

The Tuscaloosa City Council approved a concessionaire's application to sell alcohol inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on August 16, and in a Twitter video posted by user Jacob Brucker, a semi-truck can be seen unloading what appears to be the venue's first shipment of beer.

"Most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen," the post reads.

Clearly things move quickly in Tuscaloosa as just last year, it appeared as if serving alcohol was very unlikely to happen. University of Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne, in February of 2021, raised issue with a proposed service fee from the City of Tuscaloosa on all venues that would be serving alcohol.

After an agreement was reached that June, and the fee was subsequently waived,  the door remained wide open for alcohol sales to be pursued further.

On August 9, the stadium's concessionaire, Levy Premium Food Service LP, applied for a liquor license to sell alcohol within the venue, and as previously mentioned, it was approved just a week later on August 16.

The 2022 seasons kicks off on September 4 at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time since 2011. This event will mark the first time alcohol has ever been available at a University of Alabama sporting event.
