Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Chapel South with Bro. Grant Parker officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

He is preceded in death by his parents; David Grady, Sr. and Ida Belle Elliott, son; David Lee Elliott, sisters; Virginia Belle Elliott, Roberta Jenkins (Jug), brothers; David Grady Elliott, Jr. (Dot), Clarence Mills Elliott (Dot).

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Elliott, sons; Johnny Elliott (Kara), Scott Elliott (Mary), as close of a daughter as anyone could get; Ashley Elliott, daughter-in-law; Helen Elliott, 11 great grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.

Wallace spent four years in the United States Air Force and after leaving, he went to work for Memory Chapel Funeral Home as a funeral director, where he spent several years.

He joined the Tuscaloosa Police Department after leaving the funeral home and worked there until his retirement. He also served as the chief of police for Moundville Police Department for several years.

He went on to work at Drummond Coal and retired there for a second time.

After retiring twice, he decided to fulfill a life long dream, opening Pappy's BBQ in Moundville where he operated for over 24 years. He finally decided he had worked long enough and fulfilled his dreams and retired one last time.

Pallbearers will be Austin Elliott, Cody Elliott, Chase Elliott, Daniel Swartz, Mike Freeman, Clint Perry, Steve Perkins, and Jacob Knighten. Honorary pallbearers are Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Larry Skelton.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Amedisys Hospice or Moundville Methodist Church.
