Gates, a former city council member who became mayor in November, posted his request on the city's Facebook site, "You can be a part of shaping the future of Jasper and help us FOCUS on what matters most."
As part of the city’s strategic planning process, a community survey is now open to gather input from across the Jasper community. This is an opportunity for Jasper residents to share what they value most, what could be improved, and what should be a priority in the years ahead.
Gates says the survey is intended to help guide the direction of the city, its priorities, and the decisions. "We believe the first step in the process is listening, listening to the people that live here, work here, raise families here and care deeply about Jasper," the mayor said in a video posted on the site. "You feedback is not just welcomed, its essential. This survey is your opportunity to share what matters most to you."
According to the survey website, it should take about 8-to-10 minutes to complete. There are 20 questions with click the bubble choices of answers plus a dialog box for more definitive comments.
Jasper residents are invited to take the survey here: jaspercity.com/survey.
