Applications are now open for the 2026 High School Senior Scholarship Program, presented by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Eta Xi Omega Chapter, in partnership with The Cultured Pearls Foundation of Tuscaloosa County.

“These scholarships represent our belief that investing in education strengthens families, schools, and the entire Tuscaloosa community,” said Althenia Morrow-Tate, Eta Xi Omega Chapter President. “By supporting graduating seniors as they begin their college journeys, we are living out Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission of cultivating high scholastic standards and providing service to all mankind.”

Through this initiative, nine $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors, with one student selected from each of the nine high schools in the Tuscaloosa City and Tuscaloosa County school systems to assist them in continuing their education at the college level.

Graduating seniors should contact their high school guidance counselor for application information. All applications must be submitted by March 13, 2026.

As part of its ongoing commitment to education advancement, Eta Xi Omega established this scholarship program to help reduce financial barriers to higher education. It also recognizes and supports students who demonstrate academic promise and community leadership.

“Through this initiative, we invest in the potential of young people by helping them to remove many financial barriers,” said Irene Byrd, President of The Cultured Pearls Foundation of Tuscaloosa County. “We aim to cultivate and encourage high scholastic standards while promoting a progressive interest in college life.”
