How to Submit for Alabama’s 7th Congressional District Art Competition
U.S. Congresswoman Terri Sewell announced that the 2026 Congressional Art Competition is officially underway, and her office is accepting submissions until Monday, March 2, 2026.
This art competition is for high school students in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, and the 2026 theme is “Reflecting on Alabama's 7th: Where History is Made.”

Whether submitting a drawing, painting, photograph, or even a mixed-media design, the Congresswoman champions creativity and artistic expression.
According to the press release, “The winner will be chosen by a panel of expert judges and will receive free round-trip airfare for two to Washington D.C. to attend an official reception. Not only that, but their artwork will be proudly displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one whole year.”
Hosting this competition is one of the best parts of her job. Sewell said, “It is a reminder of the incredible talent here in Alabama's 7th Congressional District.”
