A crucial Tuscaloosa area nonprofit's annual golf tournament will return later this week and raise money for its mission to end the abuse and neglect of West Alabama's children.

Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa offers education and spreads awareness of the problem of child abuse and neglect, including visits to local schools to talk to kids directly about recognizing and reporting them.

On Friday, CAPS will host its 32nd annual fundraiser golf tournament at the semi-private Tall Pines Golf Course in the Woodland Forrest in southeastern Tuscaloosa near Paul W. Bryant High School.

The tournament is a 4-man scramble covering 18 holes of golf and costs $100 per person to register. Players will get swag bags, lunch from Texas Roadhouse and prizes for the team finishing first, second and third. The tournament will also feature contests like closest-to-the-pin and a raffle, plus a silent auction.

Tee times begin at 8 a.m. this Friday, November 21st.

"This tournament isn’t just about golf—it’s about giving every child the chance to grow up safe," said CAPS executive director Lisa Maddox. "This event supports our school-based programs. Every golfer stepping onto Tall Pines this Friday helps strengthen the mission of child abuse prevention. We’re excited to welcome golfers as we unite for a safer community."

Contact Maddox at 205-758-1159 or at lmaddox@capstuscaloosa.com to learn more and register ahead of the Friday contest!
