Hurricane Season Continues: What Alabamians Are Keeping an Eye On
It has been a very active hurricane season. The most recent hurricanes have brought much devastation to many areas.
Now, we are watching an area of low-pressure hundreds of miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands. Currently, it has a 10% of development through the next 48 hours because it is located in an unfavorable environment.
What is interesting about this area is this “system is forecast to move generally westward to west-southwestward, and environmental conditions could become more favorable for additional development,” said the National Hurricane Center.
The system is projected to move toward the Caribbean, potentially developing into a tropical depression by the end of the week.
The National Hurricane Center said the “formation chance through 7 days is 40%.”
The Townsquare Media Weather Center will monitor the system closely, though its potential path into the Gulf of Mexico remains uncertain.
