Three Former Alabama Stars to Rock New Numbers with Detroit Lions

DETROIT, Mich. — Three former Alabama Football stars, Jahmyr Gibbs, Terrion Arnold, and Jameson Williams, have all made a change, opting to rock new numbers for the Detroit Lions during the 2025-2026 campaign.

Jameson Williams decided to run it back with No. 1, the number he wore during his lone season at Alabama, where he earned first-team All-American and All-SEC honors. Williams recorded 1,579 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns — both marks leading the SEC during the 2021 campaign.

Jahmyr Gibbs switched from No. 26 to No. 0, becoming the third player to don the number for Detroit since the NFL began to permit its usage again in 2023. Terrion Arnold wore No. 0 last year before switching this postseason.

Gibbs recorded 1,412 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns on 250 carries for the Motor during their 15-2 season a year ago.

Terrion Arnold, who previously wore No. 0 during his rookie campaign, has opted to rock No. 6 for the Lions this season. Arnold recorded 60 tackles and ten passes defended.

Arnold wore No. 6 during his high school career at John Paul Catholic in Tallahassee, Fla.
