Fairfield Man Charged With Assault After Monday Shooting at Tuscaloosa Apartment
A Fairfield man has been arrested and charged with felony assault in the wake of a shooting that injured another man outside a Tuscaloosa apartment on Monday evening.
As the Thread first reported, the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the Regal Pointe apartments on Cypress Creek Avenue off Skyland Boulevard at about 5:15 p.m. Monday on reports of a shooting.

They found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen and detained 24-year-old Jose Alberto Garcia on the scene.
According to court documents uploaded this week, police believe the victim and Garcia were arguing with each other when his relatives became involved, and things got physical.
An adult woman allegedly attempted to intervene and break things up, and court documents say she was shoved out of the way - that's when Garcia reportedly shot the other man in the stomach.
Police charged Garcia, who is listed in court records as a Fairfield resident, with one count of first-degree assault, a Class B felony. He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, but was no longer listed as an inmate on Friday, which could indicate he has been released on bond.
