Report: Former Alabama LB Stepping Into Coaching
It's getting to the point that the younger demographic of Alabama fans are beginning to feel old. Coach Saban retired and the players from his legendary 2008 recruiting class are beginning to find jobs outside of playing football.
Julio Jones is on the brink of retirement and Mark Ingram is a media personality for FOX. Now, another prominent member of the 2008 class has moved on to another career after playing football.
According to a report, former Alabama and New England linebacker Dont'a Hightower is stepping into the position of linebackers coach for the New England Patriots.
Hightower was with the Crimson Tide from 2008 to 2011. He was a two-time BCS National Champion and a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, where he was drafted in the first round in 2012. Hightower spent his entire playing career with the Patriots.
He played with current Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo in New England and was often lauded by his teammates for his maturity and leadership. He knew every assignment for every player on the defensive side of the ball, and now he will step into the coaching world in the NFL.
