Two Tuscaloosa County Schools Closed Tuesday Amid Ongoing Power Outages

Two schools in Tuscaloosa County were closed all day Tuesday because of lingering power outages caused by overnight storms.

In a morning update, administrators in the Tuscaloosa County School System said they were canceling school at Big Sand Elementary and Buhl Elementary all day Tuesday.

All other TCSS schools opened on a two-hour delay Tuesday, as did TCSS bus routes.

Although significant progress has been made this morning, Alabama Power reports more than 2,500 customers are still without electricity as of 10 a.m.
